Per January 1, 2022 the annual contribution rates, for organizations registered in the Register of the Chamber of Commerce on the BES-Islands, has been established to range $80 to $240 or $400 USD a year. In many cases, this represents a 200% to 400% increase. We object against this raise.
Business owners on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba
The annual contribution rates, for organizations registered in the register of the Chamber of Commerce on the BES islands, will in most cases increase drastically.
The new fees mean in many cases an increase by 200% up to 400%.
Most entrepreneurs are severely affected and object to this increase, especially as companies have already been hit hard by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The same annual contribution was abolished in the Netherlands in 2013.
Entrepreneurs on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba should not have to pay high annual fees for services that are free for companies in the European part of the Netherlands.
The Dutch Parliament to take appropriate actions to prevent or retract the raise in annual contribution fees by 200% or 400%, especially because the same annual contribution fees were discontinued in The Netherlands in the year 2013. Why should business owners on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba pay high annual fees, for services which are free for businesses in the European part of The Netherlands? We request equality.
